First Republican President Kenneth Kaunda has been urged to seriously consider playing a role in resolving the issue of the Barotseland Agreement of 1964.

Civil Rights Activist Brebner Changala thinks that Zambia must utilize the opportunity it still has to resolve the Barotseland Agreement issue while Dr. Kaunda who was a signatory to it is still alive.

Mr. Changala is concerned that the issue of this Agreement does not seem to go away and therefore Dr. Kaunda can, in this case, play a major in resolving it.

In an interview with QTV News, Mr. Changala says this is especially that the government appears to be reactive than proactive in dealing with this issue.

Mr. Changala says he has observed that government is watching things from a distance instead of providing leadership on how the issue of the Barotseland Agreement can be resolved.

He says his appeal to government is that it engages the people of Barotseland as he does not think threatening those propagating secession is the answer - QFM
